Privacy Policy

Effective October 30, 2026

The short version: we keep only what the game needs to save your progress and run the leaderboards. There are no ads, no analytics, and no tracking, and we never sell your information.

This policy covers the Over the River game for Android and iOS and the website overtherivergames.com. Both are run by Over The River Games LLC, a Florida company ("we", "us"). Questions are welcome at team@overtherivergames.com.

What we collect

Your account

The first time you play, the game makes an account for you automatically, with a random ID and no sign-up. It's how your progress and leaderboard times stay yours.

Your leaderboard name

The name you choose (or the random one you start with) is shown to other players on the leaderboards. Please don't use your real full name.

Your email address, if you add one

Adding an email is optional. If you do, we use it only to send you sign-in codes, so you can keep your progress and get it back on another phone or tablet. It's never shown to other players, and we don't send marketing email.

Your game progress

A copy of your save is kept online: coins, XP, sleds and upgrades, trail records, daily tasks, the rider and outfit you picked, and a random player ID.

Your runs

For each trail, your best run is kept for the leaderboards: the time, the rider and sled, and the run's "ghost" (the path you took and the controls you used, so the server can check the time is real). Other players can see your time and race your ghost.

Gems and purchases

We keep your gem balance and its history, and the outfit pieces you own. When in-app purchases are available, the app store tells us what was bought and gives us an order number so we can add your gems. Google Play and the App Store handle the payment itself; we never see your card or payment details.

Technical information

Like any online service, our servers see your device's IP address when the game connects, and keep short-lived logs for security and to keep the service running. We don't use it to track you or build a profile.

What we don't do

Who helps us run the game

We use a few trusted companies to provide the service. They process information only on our behalf:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect players and the game from fraud or abuse.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, everything above is removed from our database straight away, and any copies in our backups are gone within 30 days. Records of purchases that the law requires us to keep for tax and accounting are kept only as long as required.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time, right in the game: tap your name at the top of the start screen, then Delete account. You can also ask us by email. See Delete your account for the details.

Your choices and rights

You can change your leaderboard name in your profile at any time, and delete your account (with its email) from the same place. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email team@overtherivergames.com and we'll help, usually within a few days.

Players of all ages

Over the River is made for everyone. The only personal information we ask for is the optional email address. If you're a parent and think your child gave us their email, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Everything between the game and our servers is encrypted, and each player can only read and change their own account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the game.
